I had a great session in Millennium Park with this adorable family! The Lurie Garden is one of my favorite spots in the city and has such a great variety of backdrops. I'll be seeing this little lady again in six months for her first birthday!

Welcoming Amelia- Chicago Birth Photography

Last Tuesday I got the text I had been waiting for, "I'm in the early stages of labor"! I had my own go-bag ready, batteries charged, and I was pumped with caffeine ready for an all nighter at the hospital. This was my first birth session as a photographer, so I was a little anxious (but mostly excited) for what was about to happen. First of all, mom was a rockstar the whole night. She was cracking jokes and asked more than once if I needed anything. No, you cannot offer me snacks and water while you are in labor! She had some amazing support from her husband and doula, Rita DiRito. Someone was always at her side to offer comfort and I was in awe by the whole process.
