Hello Baby Sachi! - Chicago Newborn Photography

I loved everything about this newborn portrait session. From the soft neutral tones and that sweet little face, Sachi was the perfect newborn model to represent my photography style. She is the first image you see when you visit Hannah Drews Photography and I loved using more of the amazing headbands from Vanilla Lullaby. Hello, Aiden! - Chicago Baby Photography- Six Month Portraits

Six-month olds are probably tied with newborns as my favorite age for photo shoots. They are so smiley and happy and most can't crawl away when I point a camera at them :-) This little guy was full of smiles and thought my crazy sounds and singing were pretty amusing. We met for a session in Lincoln Park and found a nice spot in the tall grass where Aiden was happy to hang out for an hour. He is such a little charmer with those big brown eyes and chubby cheeks!

Hello, Leo! - Chicago Baby Photographer- Six Month Portrait Session

Leo first came to see me when he was only about a week old. He was a perfect little newborn client and was just as sweet 6 months later! I met Leo and his family (including big brother Duke) for an early morning session in Lincoln Park and the weather was just perfect. The soft morning light was so warm and little Leo just loved being outside where he could check out all the sights and sounds of the park. It was so great to see how much he has grown in just 6 short months and I look forward to seeing him and his family again!

Welcome Baby Ava! - Chicago Newborn Photography

I really love being a newborn photographer in Chicago. I am able to meet so many lovely people and snuggle so many adorable newborn babies. It really is the best job! Baby Ava was such a little sweetheart and was oh so curly and squishy :-) At the beginning of the session I let her get cozy and comfortable, letting her stretch her little arms out. She loved being swaddled up in the basket and probably would have slept like that for hours. It is always great to be able to mix in some lifestyle portraits incorporating the whole family (furry children included) and we were able to get some great shots in the master bedroom as well as Ava's adorable nursery. Below are some of my favorite portraits although it was tough to narrow it down!

Welcome Baby Lily! - Chicago Newborn Portraits

I am so excited that Lily's parents decided to purchase a First Year Collection! I will get to see this little lady grow over the coming year, and with sessions at 3, 6, and 12-months, her family will have a wonderful collection of portraits documenting her first year of life. Lily has a wonderful big brother who was a little reluctant to pose with her during her newborn session. He was much more interested in watching the boats and trains go by out the window, and I don't blame him! Newborn sessions can be long and tiring, especially for a 2-year old! I bet that when I see them again in a couple months they will be best of pals :-)

Welcome Baby Jacob! - Chicago Newborn Photographer

This little guy came in for his session last month and he was such a sweet boy! I may be a little behind on blogging, but that is nothing new... Jake's mom had warned me that he loves being held and may be a bit fussy, but once he fell asleep, I don't think he made a peep for the whole photo shoot. I absolutely love this first image with minimal props and neutral colors. He also loved being on his tummy, so I took advantage of that and did a few different poses with his head resting on his hands. Isn't he adorable?!

Welcome Baby James! - Chicago Newborn Photography

Oh, I will never have enough wonderful things to say about this family! I met James' mom and dad back in April for a mini maternity session. The weather was terrible, (we had hoped for tulips, but no such luck), but these two just soldiered on with the best attitude. They are both from England so they had no problem enjoying the cold, rainy weather :-)

Once little James was born, I ventured out to Glen Ellyn and set up shop in their dining room. Lucy had warned me that James had been having a difficult time settling so I was thinking the session may be tougher than usual. Luckily James was the perfect little gentleman and slept like a champ.
